Winnie & Walter 3rd Birthday Bash - Cute Critter Challenge

Today's challenge card is for the Cute Critters challenge over on the Winnie & Walter blog!   I've had these adorable penguins since before the holidays, and finally got a chance to use them - haha!

I stenciled my background with Nuvo Glimmer Paste and added some color to the sky with Distress Inks.   I stamped the penguin trio directly on the card, but I also stamped it again on another piece of paper.   After coloring it with Copics and fussy cutting it out, I attached an Action Wobbler and adhered it right over top of the image stamped on the card base.    These guys look so cute when they wiggle!!   I'm also entering this card in the "Stencil" challenge! :)

Thanks for stopping by today!

You Are So Loved!

Hi there!   It's my day over on the CAS-ual Fridays blog, and I've created a colorful card using the newly released Daisy Chains stamp set combined with a few older stamps and dies found in the CFS shop!

You Are So Loved | Handmade card by Kimberly Rendino | CAS-ual Fridays Stamps | partial die cutting | daisy chain | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com

I stamped one of the Daisy Chain borders on a diagonal, alternating with one of the ribbon borders from Holly Jolly Borders.   I colored the flowers with Prismacolor pencils.

The tag was created by partially die cutting the smaller Scallop Tag Fri-Die (by keeping the cutting plates from covering the top of the tag and then rotating the cut and passing it through my die cutting machine again, again not covering the top part of the tag).   The sentiment from Loving Thoughts was the perfect size for my custom die cut!   I heat embossed it using embossing powder from Zing.

Hope you've enjoyed my card today!   If you want get your shop on, be sure to use the special code KIMBERLY2017 to save 15% on EVERYTHING in the CAS-ual Fridays store!   Yep, everything!!!   Happy shopping!

http://www.blog.winniewalter.com/2017/02/w-3rd-birthday-bash-bright-colours.html

Happy weekend!   I hope your Saturday is off to a great start!   I am looking forward to the kids' Winter break, which starts NOW!    No sports practices/games/tournaments for a whole week!    I'm going to relax, lol!!!

I've been playing along with Winnie & Walter's 3rd Birthday Bash challenges all week, and today I have a card for the 'Brights' challenge.

Winnie & Walter 3rd Birthday Bash - Sequin Challenge

http://www.blog.winniewalter.com/2017/02/w-3rd-birthday-bash-sequin-challenge.html

Hi again!   Today's Winnie & Walter challenge entry is probably my favorite of all the ones I did - it's for the 'Sequin' challenge, and I certainly followed THOSE rules, lol!    Lots of sequins here, folks!

hello card | Kimberly Rendino | handmade card | sequins | sequin | Winnie & Walter | Pretty Pink Posh | die cut | papercraft | cardmaking

I die cut the In A Word: Hello cutaway and colored each letter with a Copic marker that matched the sequins I would be using (from Pretty Pink Posh).   I then added a variety of sizes of sequins to each letter, fillling them as completely as I could.   I adhered the sequined die cut to solid black cardstock die cut.   I placed my word where I wanted it on my focal panel and then added more sequins - I was attempting to make it look like they were falling from above, onto the letters.    This is so fun and vibrant!    I'm also entering this into the 'Bright Colors' challenge! :)

**In case you aren't aware, every month on the 17th, CAS-ual Fridays Stamps hosts a fun blog hop to remind you that it's time to do a self-breast exam.   This helped Michele, the owner of CFS, find and have her breast cancer diagnosed in a timely manner - and she's doing GREAT now!    You can find out more HERE!**

I heat embossed the Full On Floral background stamp onto a piece of white cardstock and added color with Catherine Pooler's new inks - they blended fabulously!   I  used the Ruffled Ribbon Fri-Die to cut the ribbon from the inked background.   I added some sparkle with a Spectrum Noir clear overlay marker.

I stamped the Full On Floral background again, and adhered the ribbon on foam adhesive right on top.   The sentiment was created using the Hope Fri-Die and Calling All Sistahs stamp set.   That fun sparkle on the sides is glitter washi tape!

Winnie & Walter's 3rd Birthday Bash - Stencil Challenge

Today I've got a card I created for the 'Stencil' challenge as part of of Winnie & Walter's 3rd Birthday Bash!

handmade card by Kimberly Rendino | Winnie & Walter | stencil | one layer card | papercraft | papercrafts | cardmaking | handmade | distress inks

I wanted to create a perfectly one layer card, so I embossed the In A Word: Hello Cutaway onto my card base, and then cut the sentiment from another sheet of scrap paper.   I used this scrap piece as a mask (no need to tape it down) while I did some ink blending with Distress Inks and the Scenery: The Leaf Effect stencil.

There you have it!  A super simple stenciled & embossed one layer card.   Be sure to check out the W&W blog for all of the challenges - they are a lot of fun to play along with!

I'm also entering this card in the '3' Challenge, since I used just three items to create it - inks, a die & a stencil!!

Be sure to stop by again tomorrow -   tomorrow is the 17th of the month, and that means it's time for another Calling All Sistah's Blog Hop with CAS-ual Fridays!   See you then!

Winnie & Walter's 3rd Birthday Bash - Ink Smooshing Challenge

Hello there!!!   I've been busy in my studio creating a bunch of cards for Winnie & Walter's 3rd Birthday Bash - W&W is one of my favorite companies, and I love to participate in their challenges!   There are 10 fun challenges to enter for their birthday celebration, and the first one I was drawn to was Heather's Ink Smooshing challenge!

happy birthday card by Kimberly Rendino | Winnie & Walter | ink smooshing | distress ink | handmade card | papercraft | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com | watercolor

I used Distress Inks to create my watercolor background - I love how it turned out!   I die cut the watercolor piece with W&W's Audrey Cutaways and the In A Word: Wishes sentiment.   I added a heavy coat of Glossy Accents to the sentiment and stacked this cut with several others to add lots of dimension!   Before I mounted my watercolor panel, I heat embossed several of the roses from In Bloom: Julie's Roses with Wow glitter embossing powder directly on my card base.

Hope you've enjoyed my card today!   Stop by the W&W blog for details on how you can enter as well!

A Blog Named Hero February Challenge!

Are you ready for a new challenge over at A Blog Named Hero?   This month our collab partner is the fabulous Jane's Doodles!   I love JD stamps - and this cactus set is so fun!!   I couldn't resist giving them a little personality by adding google eyes and hand drawn smiles!

The theme this month is CAS, so I kept my kraft card base simple by adding some score lines with my Scor Board.   I stamped the Jane's Doodles cacti with Versafine Onyx Black and heat embossed with Hero Arts Clear Ultrafine embossing powder.  I colored them in with Copics and adhered those fun google eyes (with the hand drawn addition of eyelashes for Ms. Cactus)!  The sentiment is from Hero Arts' Color Layering Flamingos stamp set - and it couldn't be more perfect!   Those cacti aren't going ANYWHERE, lol!

I hope you get a chance to play along with the challenge this month.   Be sure to link up your card and follow the challenge rules for a chance to win a prize!  You have until February 27th to play.  Can't wait to see what you come up with!
