CAS-ual Fridays March Release Blog Hop!

Hello, hello!   We are doing something different this month for CAS-ual Fridays new release - we are having a big blog hop with the whole design team as well as some special guests!!   There will be prizes galore, so be sure to comment on each blog for a chance to win one of FIVE $20 CFS gift certificates - and comment on the CFS blog for a chance at a $50 gift certificate!!   Wowza!

OK - so on to my projects!   My very favorite of the new release is up first - this card uses the new release stamp sets Floating & So Pretty .

I used an oldie but goodie technique here - Joseph's Coat.  To do it, I sponged a bunch of different colors of Catherine Pooler inks onto white cardstock.   Next I heat embossed the hot air balloons from floating with clear embossing powder.  After it cooled for a few seconds, I swiped the CP Black ink direct to paper over the entire piece.

The end result is so gorgeous and vivid!   I took it a step further, and removed the shiny embossing by lifting it with a warm iron (I covered the panel with a plain piece of paper and ironed over it to remove the powder).   I combined sentiments from the two stamp sets and heat embossed them in white.

My next card uses Rad & Modern Petals.  This set is going to be awesome for all those masculine cards that are SOOOOO difficult to create, lol!!

The Modern Petals set is a lot of fun to play with - the color combinations are endless!

For my last card, I used a sentiment from So Pretty stamped with a Hero Arts Ombre ink pad.   The stars are from Twinkle.

I added a little sparkle to this one with Nuvo Drops, Spectrum Noir sparkle marker & glitter tape!

CAS-ual Fridays Sneak Peek - Modern Petals

Hello!   For the CAS-ual Fridays March release we are shaking things up a bit with the way we are sharing the new goodies....today you're getting just a little taste of what's to come before we kick off the release with a fun blog hop which starts tomorrow!   Be sure to stop by the CAS-ual Fridays blog, as there were more sneak peeks shared earlier this week!

I am sharing a card made with the awesome new background building set, Modern Petals!   I used the larger petals for this card and stamped them in a gradient of orange shades.   These stamps are quite easy to line up, so no worries there!  I grabbed the little flower from Sassy Smiles to use in the centers.  I wanted to add a contrasting color for a bit of pop, and after trying a few shades, I settled on aqua - I love this color combo!   In fact, I must have subliminally gravitated toward it as it's the CFS logo colors, lol!!  The sentiment (from Thanks) and die cut (from Smiling Fri-Dies) finished off the card.

Be sure to stop by again tomorrow for our fun March blog hop!   Pssst....I hear there will be prizes, and special guests too! ;)

As always, if you'd like to do some shopping over at CAS-ual Fridays, be sure to use code KIMBERLY2017 to save 15% on ANYTHING your heart desires!

A Blog Named Hero 5th Anniversary Blog Hop!

Hello!   Today we are celebrating A Blog Named Hero's 5th Anniversary!   I am so excited to be a part of this hop, sharing the Hero Arts love!    I'm honored to be a current A Blog Named Hero design team member - and I'm in great company, as so many of my favorite papercrafters have been (or currently are!) part of this amazing design team!  This is a TWO DAY hop, and there are different prizes to be won each day, so be sure to comment along today's hop list to win prizes from Simon Says Stamp, Gina K Designs, Winnie & Walter, Lawn Fawn, Avery Elle, Mama Elephant, Studio Katia, Online Card Classes & Jennifer McGuire, Ink!   Check out Saturday's hop list as well for more prizes from many other collaborating companies/sponsors!

OK, so on to my card!!!    I used one of my very favorite older Hero Arts background stamps (Highline Ironwork) to create my embossed and watercolored background.

handmade birthday card by Kimberly Rendino | watercolor | hero arts | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com | butterfly | papercraft | cardmaking

The butterflies are from Hero Arts' Color Layering Butterflies stamp set.  I stamped them in black ink, fussy cut them, smooshed them in my Versamark ink pad and then heat embossed them with Wow Black Twinkle embossing glitter.

I didn't want to cover up any of the colors on my background, so I stamped my greeting, from Year Round Sentiments, onto a strip of acetate and heat embossed it with the same embossing glitter.  I added adhesive to only the center portions of the butterflies so that their wings would have "lift" and dimension.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you've enjoyed my card.  If you are interested, you can also find me on Facebook & Instagram!

Your next stop on the hop is Mateja's blog - and if you get lost, you can always go back to A Blog Named Hero for the full link list.

Hello!!   I'm excited to be hopping along in the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!    I love these hops - it's so much fun to get inky with my coffee/tea stamp sets!   I used Lil' Inker Designs stamps & dies on today's card - I am a GINORMOUS fan of the dual dotted dies from Lil' Inker - I used both the squares and borders here.

**In case you aren't aware, every month on the 17th, CAS-ual Fridays Stamps hosts a fun blog hop to remind you that it's time to do a self-breast exam.   This helped Michele, the owner of CFS, find and have her breast cancer diagnosed in a timely manner - and she's doing GREAT now!    You can find out more HERE!**  Want to be part of next month's hop?   We'd love to have you!   For more info, visit our Facebook group!

For my card today, I stamped the flowers from Loving Thoughts  with Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Ink and then heat embossed with iridescent embossing powder.    They sparkle and shine so much in real life - I tried my best to capture it for you in the photo ;)   I stamped the sentiment (from Calling All Sistahs ) and the butterfly (from Be) with Versafine Onyx Black and then heat embossed with clear powder.   I cut the sentiment strip, cutting around the top part of the butterfly, and adhered it to the card with foam tape.     I wanted to let the background shine, so to tie the sentiment strip in with the rest of the card, I heat embossed a single butterfly (also from Be) directly on the card base.

Be sure to hop along for the chance to win a prize from CAS-ual Fridays!   Comments must be made by 12 a.m. EST on March 19.   Now head over to Penny's blog to see what she's created!!

You Still Give Me Butterflies....

Happy Saturday!   I hope your weekend is off to a wonderful start!   Today I'm over at the CAS-ual Fridays blog with this romantic little card.

handmade card by Kimberly Rendino | CAS-ual Fridays Stamps | Floral | Butterflies | you give me butterflies | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com

I stamped the Full On Floral background with black ink and then stamped the butterflies from Butterbows with Catherine Pooler inks.   I stamped a second trio of  butterflies and added a little shading with a Copic marker.  I fussy cut those butterflies out, creased them along the middle and added Glossy Accents to just the center.   Adhering them like this over top of the already stamped butterflies gives some nice dimension.

The sentiment also comes from the Butterbows stamp set.   It was heat embossed with white embossing powder and added across the focal panel.   To finish the card off, I added the tiniest touch of color to a few of the flowers - it's very hard to see in these photos as it is SOOO light!

I hope you've enjoyed my card today!   If you decide to go shopping at CAS-ual Fridays, be sure to use my speial coupon code, KIMBERLY2017 - you'll save 15% on EVERYTHING in the shop!  Have a fantastic weekend!

I'm Lucky to Know You!

Hello there!   I'm stopping in today to share a card I made for the Paper Smooches "Greenery" challenge.   I combined the A Magical Spring stamp set with the Curly Clouds  and Rainbow dies to create a fun and colorful card for my BFF for St. Patty's Day!

I die cut the rainbow (upside down!) from two pieces of blue cardstock.   I adhered the rainbow pieces to the back side of the cardbase and covered up the inside with the second piece of die cut blue cardstock to keep the inside of my card looking nice and neat.

I colored the funny leprechaun with Copic markers and created my scene by adding some die cut grass (Lawn Fawn Grassy Borders) and the curly clouds up in the sky.   I adhered the leprechaun with an Action Wobble Spring - it's so cute when he wiggles!!!

I love how this turned out - rainbow colored all the things, right?!   Happy weekend, friends!!!

Uniko's 5th Birthday Celebration

Hi!   I'm stopping in with a card I made for Uniko Studio's 5th Birthday.  I absolutely adore this hummingbird, so I was thrilled to use it for this special occasion!

The hummingbird was embossed with Wow embossing powder in Midas Touch - it's SOOO glittery and gorgeous!   I colored it in with Copic markers.   The sentiment is also from Uniko!

A Blog Named Hero - March Challenge

Hello there, friends!   Can you believe it is March already?    I can't.    The months seem to be just flying by!    With the new month, there is a new challenge over at A Blog Named Hero!   This month our collaboration partner is the wonderful Studio Katia, and our challenge theme is "Bling It Up"!

I recently received the gorgeous Color Layering Hydrangea stamp set from Hero Arts and couldn't wait to get it inky!    I used a combination of Hero Arts and Altenew inks for my bloom and leaves.   I fussy cut everything out and set it aside while I prepared my shaker card.

I die cut the Stitched Notebook die from Studio Katia from the center of my card.   I got a little creative here by snipping off the notebook part and leaving just the fun shape.   I created a shaker pocket with my Fuse tool and a stamp storage pocket and filled it generously with Studio Katia's Clear Iridescent seed beads.   To keep the inside of my card nice and clean, I die cut another Stitched Notebook piece and adhered it to the inside of the card to cover up the fused pocket piece.

I added a little more bling to the card with some Glossy Accents and sparkle marker highlights.

The sentiment strip was die cut using an additional die included in the Stitched Notebook die set - I ran it though my die cutting machine twice to get the length I needed to span across the shaker window.   The sentiment is from Studio Katia's Hello Alice stamp set.   Isn't that a gorgeous font?!

I hope you play along with us this month!   Break out your Hero Arts goodies and your bling and get crafty!    I can't wait to see what you create!
