It's Friday!!

Happy Friday! Here is a little mini album and card I made for a friend going through a difficult time. It just makes me smile! That's it for today - short and sweet! Have a great weekend....

Papertrey Make It Monday #85

So this week's MIM challenge is to use a glittered tab. For my background I white heat embossed the flower and leaf images from Pretty Peonies onto sticky back canvas and then added some distress stains and distress inks over the top. I like that it is a bit random and not so perfect looking! The canvas is mounted onto Scarlet Jewel cardstock. The glitter is hard to see in the picture, but it is from Martha Stewart - the color is Brownstone. I need to get my Halloween crafting going! I am getting such a late start! Hopefully there will be some of that going on later in the week :)

10 Minute Craft Dash

More like 10 minutes before the deadline, lol! I've had these two cards done for a whole week, but haven't gotten around to posting them....then I realized the challenge is ending tonight! Anyway, my first card clocked in around 8 minutes. It's just white embossed and then colored with Distress Inks. Super duper easy!
My second card took just over 10 minutes....but that is because I HAD to go and add some Stickles! This one is just some PP and a fussy cut unicorn from Lawn Fawn. Love this one!

A New Make-It Monday Challenge

So I have a card for Papertrey's latest Make-It-Monday challenge! This one was to cut apart your stamps to create a new look. This is a bit painful, I won't lie, lol! I've done it once or twice before, but somehow cutting into the perfect sentiment feels sacriligous! Anyway, I used all PTI on this card - Lovely Layers and I cut apart the Happy Birthday from one of the Think Big sets. Turned out pretty, I think. It will go to my grandma for her 91st birthday this week :) Stay tuned, I've been busy. I have a card I created for the 10 Minute Craft Dash challenge I'll try to get up today or tomorrow. In the meantime, I'm re-painting wall letters for my daughter's room. We changed the room from lime green to purple, so I have to adjust the letters. Fun, fun! Take care all!

Make It Monday #80

Long time no blog! Oooh, the summer has just flown by! I can't believe the kids go back to school next week. Sad, but I have to admit, they've driven me a bit crazy, especially these last couple weeks :) In any case, I've spent the last few days playing around in my craft room, contemplating submitting some of my work for a DT call. I've never submitted anything (other than online challenges), so I'm a little nervous, but I just may do it. Better make my mind up soon though - my work has to be turned in by tomorrow!!! When I woke this morning, I was surprised to find that Papertrey's MIM was "garlands". I just completed a card yesterday afternoon that totally fit the bill! Here it is....hope you enjoy! Have a great week!!!!

Teacher Cards

Hi there blog peeps! I've been MIA from my blog for a bit. I've recently had a spurt of creativity, so I have a few cards to post! I think the more stuff you accumulate, the more daunting creating things can be. And you know I like to accumulate, lol!!! I had a chance to make some cards this week, and I focused on my kids' teachers, since the end of school is just three weeks away. I was able to use some honeycomb paper that my son picked out for me for Mother's Day. It's pretty cool stuff! Enjoy!

Two Cards! I'm on a Roll!

Today was another challenge day on the PTI blog - this time to create interactive cards. My first card uses a new item called Action Wobble Springs. I ordered them from Amazon last week and I just checked over there to link them for you, but they are out of stock already :( These are really cool. You just peel and stick to the element you want to wobble. The frog on the lily pad looks super cute wobbling around! I highly recommend these little guys if you can find them!

My second card is one I did for my daughter's birthday. This one is a shutter card. Not sure it's exactly interactive, but I think it qualifies. This one took some time.... The ribbon, cardstock and felt flowers are PTI. This one turned out so cute, it was worth the extra time!

UPDATE
Here's a video showing the frog wobbling! Love it!

PTI Anniversary Contest, Day #5

Today's challenge was to find an inspirational picture on Pinterest and make something based on it! Fun! I'm in the Valentine's spirit, so I thought these cute conversation hearts within a heart were just the thing.

I used some Twinery twine and popped up the negative die cut with foam dimensionals. The hearts were cut from (mostly) PTI paper and stamped with the Tag-It's set....#11 I think? The sentiment is one from the Think Big Favorites series. I had to add a little glitter to the sentiment with a Spica pen, but it doesn't show up well in the picture. Oh well! I keep meaning to get some pictures of my craft room when it's clean to put up here on the blog, but everytime I think of it, the room is a mess again....one of these days!

Papertrey Anniversary Contest

Well, in a way I am a day late and a dollar short! I started this card for a contest that was running yesterday but didn't get it finished. Todays contest had us use a choice of a few cute digi stamps from the Papertrey design team - and what do you know! Dawn McVey's cute digi matched the colors I chose for "yesterday's" card perfectly. So, the two have been rolled into one! I was really hoping to get more cards done today, but between work, he gym, an ortho appointment for my son and a pediatrician appointment for my daughter, this is the only one I could get done.....thus the super-simple nature of it!!! Wish me luck :)

Clean & Simple Cardmaking

Here's a card I finally got around to making! I signed up for Online Card Classes' "Clean & Simple Cardmaking" class and this card uses the technique from Day 8 - mirror image stamping. I think it turned out pretty cute! I'll probably give it to the hubs for V-day. I've also been working on my daughter's Valentines for her third grade class. They are turning out cute as well - I'll post a picture when they are all finished.....
