Guest Designer at Top Dog Dies

Hello friends!!  I’m super excited to be the Guest Designer on the Top Dog Dies blog today!  I was able to work with the amazing Leaf Mosaic Die as well as the Borders #2 and the Make A Banner dies.

For my first card, I die cut the Leaf Mosaic out of glossy white paper and broke out my alcohol inks!   I used a variety of green, gold and burgundy shades and pounced the ink over the entire die cut.   I cut the inside two squares out with a craft knife and set aside the two leaves for another card.   The sentiment stamped and embossed in gold is from the Winnie & Walter stamp set “The Party”.  (I performed a little bit of stamp surgery so that the sentiment would fit in the narrow space, lol!).

I stamped ‘birthday' on a burgundy strip of paper, scored it and notched the ends to make a banner that gave the card an extra pop of color.

My second card uses the two leftover leaves I had from the Leaf Mosaic die.  A simple sentiment stamped in gold (from the Cas-ual Fridays stamp set “Lovely Greetings”), some stacked and staggered scallops from the Borders #2 die set and a ribbon tied across the top finish this simple card.

I absolutely love the pierced detail on the scalloped borders!

My third project isn’t a card at all!  I thought I’d use the Make A Banner dies to create a bookmark.

I love that all of the pieces you need to create an awesome banner are here in this set.  To begin, I die cut two of the banners (one for the front, one for the back) as well as an extra border piece.  The border pieces were layered  offset to get a different look.    My initials were cut with the Vintage Alphabet die from gold glitter cardstock.   To put it all together, I scored the banner piece for the back just below the attachment holes so that it will act as a hinge.   I laminated my bookmark to make it extra sturdy, but you could definitely skip this step!   I attached the front and back with brads I found in my stash.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my projects today as much as I enjoyed creating them!   A big thank-you to Amanda for inviting me to guest design for Top Dog Dies!
