So I was able to find enough time to make one last card for Papertrey Ink's Stamp-A-Faire 2015. I chose to do Laura's thread nest challenge (I miss Laura on the PTI team.....don't you?!?!).
I got my new Color Burst pigments in the mail today, and had to play with them...this is a mix of several of the blue and purple shades. I absolutely LOVED how it turned out and since it didn't need much else, I thought it'd be the perfect background for a "thread nest" card. I used metallic silver thread and a PTI die stacked several times for added impact. Some Wink of Stella on the die and some Pretty Pink Posh Metallic Silver sequins finish the card!
Hope to see you back tomorrow for a fun beachy card! I'm trying to hold on to the last bits of summer, lol!!!

Stamp-A-Faire 2015 - Pattern Challenge
Good Morning! I'm back with another card inspired by the Papertrey Ink Stamp-A-Faire Pattern Challenge. This was one of Nichole Heady's patterns, and as soon as I saw it, I knew this was the one I wanted to take on! I masked the area to the left and used a Simon Says Stamp stencil along with Distress Inks to get the soft blended pattern. The strawberries are from the Strawberry Patch stamp set and the sentiment is from the Sweet As Can Be stamp set, both from PTI. I like the more pastel version of the strawberries....I normally would've gone red (of course!), but thought I'd step outside the box, lol! Of course some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Sequins were just what the card needed to feel complete!

Stamp-A-Faire 2015, White Wedding!
I'm playing along today with Papertrey Ink's Stamp-A-Faire! I had a chunk of time this morning to do nothing but play, and I was thrilled to get three cards done....so here's the first of several posts to come!
The first challenge was to create a wedding card using nothing but white (and a neutral for a sentiment). This is definitely something I've never done before! I used a cover plate for the front of the card, backed with vellum. The back of the card is Stampers Select white cut to about 7-8". I scored it at 5 1/2" and added a scalloped edge The two pieces were adhered together with Scor Tape along the skinny edges so that the inside of the card is nice and clean. A layered vellum butterfly die (from the Pretty Peonies set) accented with rhinestones and an embossed sentiment finish up the card!
I'll be back shortly with another Stamp-A-Faire card! I hope everyone has had a chance to get crafty today!!

Newton's Nook Designs August Release - Tranquil Tides Dies!
Guess what.....we're back today showcasing this month's new DIES! There are dies to match the Tranquil Tides set we introduced yesterday and also dies to go along with the old NND favorite, Newton's Antics! I played with the Tranquil Tides dies, and this is what I came up with....
I thought it'd be fun to create a negative die cut, and the fish was one of my favorites from the set! I die cut the fish from navy cardstock, and then lightly traced the shape onto white cardstock so I knew where to place the sequins. I glued the sequins in place and then foam mounted the tag over top of the sequin piece. I love the dimension this gives! I added some PPP Sparkling Clear sequins for bubbles and some green ribbon at the top (note to self - don't use Glossy Accents to adhere ribbon.....it WILL leave a mark! Grrrr....)
For the background, I inked a fish scale stencil with Mowed Lawn and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Inks. I love the third color the two of them created! The sentiment flag was the finishing touch!
Hope you've had a great time checking out the NND release this month! The new stamps and dies will be available to purchase tomorrow on the Newton's Nook site!

Newton's Nook Designs August Release - Tranquil Tides!
I'm back again today with another new stamp set from Newton's Nook Designs! I'm so in love with the new Tranquil Tides stamp set!
OK, so I created a coral wreath.....get it?! My kids think I'm nuts, but the play on coral reef makes me crack up every time! To create this card, first I used a pencil to lightly trace a circle die from my stash in the center of my cardstock. The starfish was stamped next using Hero Arts ombre ink. I created a mask and stamped another starfish. The coral was stamped five times around the circle and then I erased my pencil lines. The sentiment fit in the center of the wreath perfectly!
I inked the edges with Salty Ocean and Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink and mounted the panel on some navy cardstock then adhered to my card base. Some Pretty Pink Posh sequins finished the card off!

Newton's Nook Designs August Release - Mermaid Crossing!
It's that time of the month again! Time for another awesome NND release. Today the DT is sharing creations made with the new Mermaid Crossing stamp set!
I spent some time creating the background with alcohol inks on glossy paper. I used a mixture of blues, greens and grey to try and capture an underwater effect. Once I had it inked, I flicked on some alcohol to make "water" splotches. I punched a variety of circles in the background piece to mimic bubbles, and added some Glossy Accents to some of the pieces and layered them on top for some additional texture. I added some acetate behind the bubbles and then the whole piece was foam mounted to my cardstock base. The pretty little mermaid was colored with Copics and Wink of Stella and then fussy cut. I was going for a more adult "Little Mermaid" look, lol! Because the paper is glossy, I inked the sentiment using Staz-On.

Wine Time!
Hi there, crafty friends! I'm up on the Newton's Nook blog today with this fun card featuring the new Message in a Bottle dies!
I used the bottle die a little differently than the stamp set intended... I looked at that die and thought....I can SO make these wine bottles, lol! I die cut three of the bottles and colored them in with Copics. The sentiment, from the Years of Cheers set, and the decorative lines at the top of the bottles (part of the scroll from the Message in a Bottle stamp set!) were embossed with Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder. I used actual cork for the cork die cut, and added a little spill of wine with a Tim Holtz stencil and Distress Ink.
Hope you like today's card - I love when you can make something completely different with your stamps & dies!
CHALLENGES
I'm entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes!
