Newton's Nook IPC8!

Time for another Inky Paws Challenge over at the Newton's Nook blog!  Here's my card....

I decided I wanted to use the Love a la Carte set, and for whatever reason that old song "Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch" came to my head!   I couldn't shake it, so I just went with it, lol!   I added my patterned paper and then die cut a circle window from the front of the card.   I did a little creative masking with the Love a la Carte and Frozen Friends stamp sets so that I could change up the "sweetie pie" sentiment.   I stamped the cute li'l pie and honey bun on the inside of the card and colored with Prismacolors.   I paper pieced the little hearts so they perfectly match the paper.   It all looked a little plain, so I added the faux stitching lines with a white gel pen and added the banner up at the top.   I handwrote the "you know that" and I changed the I (heart) snow to read I (heart) you.....because I'm definitely NOT loving snow after this winter - ha!  Here's an inside picture of the card so you can better see the sentiment....

Hopefully the recipient (my husband more than likely!) will get the musical reference!!   Play along with the challenge if you have time!  I believe it ends tonight....go get inky and have a great weekend!

CFC130 - Good Egg!

Hi everyone!   Today I'm playing along with the Cas-ual Fridays "A Good Egg" challenge.   To play along, go here!

Here's my entry!   I created the egg by die cutting an oval and then tracing a stencil with a Copic marker.    I colored with Copics, added some Wink of Stella glitter pen and then a coating of Glossy Accents over each piece.   I was going for a Faberge egg kind of vibe!   Once I had it all done, it looked a little stark with the white background, so I sponged on some Spun Sugar distress ink.   I'm not sure how I feel about the pink.   I tried to go in with a light hand, but it ended up darker than I'd hoped.   I stamped the sentiment using part of a Hero Arts set and also the Shenanigans set from Cas-ual Fridays.  Finally, I mounted the focal panel onto some DCWV glitter paper (awesome stuff!!   no messy glitter everywhere with this paper!).

Hoping I can find some time tonight to play along with the latest Newton's Nook challenge as well!   Hope you're having a great Tuesday!

Winnie & Walter Playdate #1

Hello crafty friends!   I had to put my new Winnie & Walter stamps to good use, so I thought I'd play along with their first challenge, Playdate #1!   Head over to the Winnie & Walter blog to play along!

This is a photo inspiration challenge, and I used the little girl's shirt as my inspiration.    The colors were so spring-y (and trust me....I'm feeling the need for spring)!   I used some Dear Lizzy pattern paper as my background and added the wonderful sentiments from  The Big, The Bold, & The Happy set.   the flower border uses  The Write Stuff: Leave it to Mom set with a little extra Copic shading on the leaves, some Wink of Stella glitter pen (but of course!) and some Doodlebug pearls.   I added some flecks of Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Coral to finish the card off.

Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend so far.   If I'm lucky I'll get a little more crafting time in tomorrow before heading over to my parents' house for Sunday dinner!

Another Challenge Card!

Here's the ultimate in CAS....at least for me it is, lol!!   This cutie uses Lawn Fawn's Here's the Scoop and lots of my Wink of Stella glitter pen.    To make the background perfectly match the coloring on the ice cream, I used the same Copic marker to color it in then added Wink of Stella over the top.   Dashes of Wink of Stella over all the toppings, etc. finished it off!   This card will be entered into both the Lawnscaping challenge (CAS) and the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge (Glitter It!)   Click on the links to play along yourself!!

Paper Smooches Sparks Entry

Got a chance to put together a CAS card for the Paper Smooches Sparks challenge today as well!   Busy, busy!   I created a watercolor background using distress markers and water and then cut it into strips to make the border for my chalkboard greeting.  So bright and cheery!

Play along for yourself, and be sure to visit www.papersmoochesstamps.com!

Make it Monday with PTI

Melissa made a gorgeous card for this week's MIM, and I was so inspired!   For the first time ever, I used paint on one of my PTI impression plates.   While I didn't have the same type of paint that she used, I tried it with Distress Paint and it worked just fine.   The color was close to PTI's Sweet Blush, so that's what I went with for the rest of the card.  I embossed the Harvest Berries gingko leaves in white on vellum and went over it with some gold distress paint.   I also used the heart border upside down to create the tiny scallops.   A few sequins (but of course!) and it was finished.   I am ahead of the game here with a Mother's Day card!!    Fine by me....I love having things ready to go!

This is the first of three posts today....I've been busy in the craft room all day!   Not much else to do, as it is STILL snowing in NY.   Unreal!   Maybe we will skip spring and head straight into summer?   One can dream, I guess, lol!!
