Blow Out That Bonfire!

Hello there, crafty friends!   I've got a bright, fun birthday card to share with you today using just one awesome stamp set from CAS-ual Fridays.

Last month, I was inspired by an old favorite stamp set, Shenanigans, when my crafty friend Coralynn and I did the Two Designers, One Stamp Set post for CAS-ual Fridays.   I couldn't resist making another card with it when it was sitting on my desk!

I used my MISTI to line up the sentiment and repeatedly stamped the sentiment by sliding my card up a few grid spaces each time I inked.   Those bright colors are Distress Oxide inks - I just love them!   I didn't want to hide too much of that beautiful rainbow, so I opted to just stamp and heat emboss the Make a Wish sentiment in the lower corner.  Such a vivid and fun one-layer birthday card, don't you think?!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!    If you've been inspired and want to do some shopping, you are always able to use my special code, KIMBERLYSENTME, to save 15% on anything and everything in the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps shop!    Have a great day!

Welcome, Spring! + Lil' Inker Designs Gift w/ Purchase!

Hello, friends!   I've had just about enough of the snow and cold here in Central New York, so I broke out some spring stamps & dies from  Lil' Inker Designs - Spring isn't that far away - at least that's what I keep telling myself, lol!!   All of the items I used are linked below.

I started by running the Quilted Stitched Pattern Die through my die cut machine - I just adore that pretty background!   Next I die cut the Easter egg shape from the Dual Stitched Egg set from the center of the panel.   My original intention was to make a shaker card, so I added acetate behind the egg shaped window.....but when I found that beautiful background paper, I couldn't bear to cover any of it up, lol!

I added the patterned paper to my card base, and adhered the sentiment banner. Next I adhered the die cut panel to the card with foam tape.   I added the Spring sentiment, die cut twice and layered, across the window.   To finish off the card, I die cut several of the butterflies from the Stitched Butterflies die set from vellum.   I added some shading to the back of the butterflies with my Prismacolor pencils, creased them in the middle and added some adhesive.  I love how their wings are lifted from the panel!

I hope you've enjoyed my card today - be sure to check out Lil' Inker Designs  - there is a fabulous promotion going on during the month of February - you will receive the Hello Awesome stamps & Awesome Word Die with any $75 purchase!  How awesome is that? (See what I did there?! Ha!)

The Sky is the Limit!

Hello friends!   I've got a fun card to share today using a new to me technique and some of CAS-ual Fridays' fun stamps & dies!

I created a background by adding some Distress Oxide inks to my craft mat and spritzing them with water.   Then I swiped a piece of glossy cardstock into the colors and used my heat tool to dry the cardstock.   I kept adding layers of color until I was happy with it.   The oxides did their thing and oxidized, and then I added some Micro Glaze to the piece and brought out all those vivid colors once again.   Fun!

I used the Stars Fri-Dies to die cut several sizes of stars from the inked piece and positioned them on a piece of grey cardstock.  I added a few white heat embossed stars and sequins along the star trail to add to the flowy feeling.   The sentiment is a mix of CFS stamp sets that I thought fit the theme of this card perfectly (congrats from Rad 2 & The sky is the limit from Floating)!   This would make a great graduation card!

Alrighty, that's it for me today!   I hope you've enjoyed my card.   FYI, Michele has recently re-stocked the CFS store with the newly released coffee stamp sets! Yay!  If you've had your eye on them, head on over and use my special code, KIMBERLYSENTME, to save 15%!   The code is good on everything in the store - enjoy!
