Aloha!

Hi there, crafty friends!   I've got a fun card today using lots of papers from ADORNit.   I love the Flamingo Fever collection of papers - it's so cheerful!  I just did some fussy cutting and subtle inking on the sentiment and added a die cut frame to ground my little scene.  I have to admit - it was fun to create a card using no stamps at all!

I hope your weekend is off to a great start!

Kindness

This is a hard post for me to write - I've been absolutely reeling from the devastating loss of my dad this past Friday. It was completely unexpected and my family, along with my sister's family and my mother, have been trying to take things one day at a time and start adjusting to a new normal.   I just have no words.....but I do want to say thank you to so many of my friends.   All of the little kindnesses shown to me in the last few days have touched my heart (and likely made me cry some more, lol!).   I am so very thankful to know so many wonderful people who have checked in on us, baked something, sent flowers or a card, or just lent me their ear or shoulder to cry on.   I appreciate it more than you know!

Sunshine & Pink!

Hi friends!  I'm positively giddy that today, for the first time in WEEKS, we have both no rain AND a decent temperature outside!    I thought I'd share this fun card I made with papers from ADORNit to celebrate this momentous occasion, lol!!    Have a great day!!

Copic Colored Washi Tape!

Hi friends!   I have been eyeing this washi tape from ADORNit for awhile....wondering if I could color it in.   I had a chance to play with it earlier today, and guess what!   It worked like a charm!    This washi has such a fun coloring page-look.   I love that it can be colored in to suit your project!
I cut the word mom from kraft paper using my Scan-n-Cut.   I colored the washi in with Copic markers and adhered it above and below the word, and then adhered the panel with foam tape to a piece of patterned paper, also from ADORNit!
I'm loving how this turned out, simple and striking!   Hope this inspires you to try coloring in your washi tape for a different look!    Have a FANTASTIC weekend!

Congratulations Hot Air Balloon

Hello and happy "hump day"!   I've got another card using the Joseph's Coat technique today.    CAS-ual Fridays floral series of stamps lend themselves well to this technique, and I just can't stop playing around with color combinations!

I used Catherine Pooler's inks for this one again, and fussy cut the balloon from Floating out.   I spritzed it with shimmer spray before adhering it with foam adhesive to the partially embossed background (the embossing folder is from Taylored Expressions).   I added some sparkling clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh, and the sentiment is from Heartfelt Sayings.  If you want more information on how I created the hot air balloon, check out THIS post!

Remember to use my special code, KIMBERLY2017 if you feel the urge to get your shop on over at CAS-ual Fridays!    You'll save 15% at checkout....awesome, right?!?!

A Blog Named Hero May Challenge - Watercolor!

It's time for a new challenge over at A Blog Named Hero!    This month's theme is Watercoloring, and our collaboration partner is Honey Bee Stamps.   I decided to combine some Honey Bee dies with Hero Arts stamps to create a sweet baby card!
To create my focal piece, I cut a 3 x 3 square of watercolor paper and sprinkled on several shades of blue and green Brusho watercolor powders.   I spritzed on some water and tilted the paper back and forth to create the "sea".   Once dry, I stamped the seahorse and several babies with Versafine ink and added some bubbles with Nuvo Drops.
I wanted to keep the background simple, so I die cut the 'special' & 'delivery' words  multiple times from white paper (first backed with Stick-It to make adhering them easy-peasy!).   I arranged the words over my card base,  added some ribbon from my stash, and then adhered the watercolored and stamped piece to the card with foam adhesive.

I love how this turned out!    It's not your typical baby card, but that just makes it more fun!   I hope you get a chance to play along with our challenge this month - break out your watercolors (any kind!) and Hero Arts goodies and create something awesome!   Link it up for a chance to win!   See you again soon, crafty friends.....
