CAS-ual Fridays March Release - 3 Little Birds

Woo-hoo!   We've made it to Friday!   I hope you've enjoyed all of the inspiration from CAS-ual Fridays March release week.  I have one more card to share with you using the new 3 Little Birds stamps & dies.   This is my favorite stamp set of the release - I couldn't wait to color those little birdies!!

To create this card, I partially die cut the 3 little birds - leaving the left side intact to form the front of the card.  I also die cut the birds from a piece of patterned paper and adhered it to the left side of the card.    Once I had the birds die cut I stamped the image and colored it with Prismacolor pencils.

I stamped the 'You're the" sentiment on the front of the card, and added the 'tweetest' on the inside, just behind the middle bird so that it can't be seen when the card is closed.

I love how this turned out - something a little different, sure to make the recipient smile!

Thanks for hanging with me all week!  What are your favorites from the release?   Remember that the code KIMBERLYSENTME will save you 15% on everything you see in the CAS-ual Fridays store, including the newly released stamps and dies!

Have a fantastic weekend, everyone!   I hope you have time to get your ink on!! :)

CAS-ual Fridays March Release - Pretty Passover

Good morning, crafty friends!   We are on to day four of the CAS-ual Fridays March release.   I think there will be a lot of pleased crafters out there when they see the brand new Pretty Passover stamps & dies!    As always, Michele has knocked it out of the park with this set - there are not a ton of stamp sets available that celebrate the Jewish faith, but with this gorgeous set, Passover is covered!

I stamped and heat embossed the image with white embossing powder and then realized that the tiny strip of Stars of David would nestle right in next to the stamped image.   I ran the strip through my die cutting machine a dozen times to get the look.

Next I did some ink blending with a rainbow of Distress Oxide inks and cut away the center with an X-acto knife to create room for the heat embossed sentiment.

That's all from me today!   There's still one more set to reveal, so be sure to check in again tomorrow!

The code KIMBERLYSENTME me works on anything in the CAS-ual Fridays store, even this new release!   Be sure to enter the code at checkout to save 15% on your order!

CAS-ual Fridays March Release - Serindipi-tea

**This is my second post of the day.  For my Lil' Inker Designs blog post, please scroll down**

Hello again!    Welcome back to day three of CAS-ual Fridays' March release.   Today we have the adorable stamp & die set, Serendipi-tea, to show you.   It's about time tea got some love, don't you think?!   LOL!   This may be my favorite card of the release!
I wanted to create a shaker card that looked like the tea was pouring from the teapot into the tea cup, so I started by planning out the location of the pot & cup and running it through my die cutting macine.   I adhered this piece to a piece of gingham cardstock and stamped the teapot,  tea cup & sentiment.

Next I sketched out where I wanted the shaker portion to be.   I cut through both pieces of paper with an exacto knife and adhered acetate to the back side.   I added some tan seed beads for my shaker filler and added some Copic and white gel pen details to complete the card.

There are two more days left of the March release - you don't want to miss them, trust me!    See you back here again tomorrow, friends!

The code above can be used on any items you like when shopping at the CAS-ual Fridays store!!    You can use it whenever you want, however many times you want!    How awesome is that?!

Lil' Inker Designs March Release - Day 3

Happy Hump Day!   Thanks for sticking with me all week as we debut projects created with the amazing new Lil' Inker Designs March release.   So far I've shared a bunch of Easter projects, but today there's not a bunny in sight, lol!    First up is a card using the So Very Kind Greeting Die.

I started by creating a fun background with alcohol inks.   I die cut the So Very Kind greeting from both white and black paper and offset it just a bit and added the inked paper behind the greeting.   I added some twine and adhered it to a piece of paper embossed with the Quilted Stitch background.   It's so bright and bold - I love this one!

Next we have dies that compliment the So Prickly stamp set!   The So Prickly Cactus dies are AWESOME!   They can totally be used on their own without the stamp set - check out that embossed detail!

I pieced together the cacti & the pot by die cutting extras of each and replacing the little dots (this was super easy - I just adhered the larger of the die cuts with the holes already popped out, and laid the other color die on top.   Then I just poked the pieces through and they popped right into place)  The background was ink blended with Distress Oxides, and the stamped sentiment comes from the So Prickly stamp set.

And finally, a card for Mom using the new Bouquet of Roses stamps and dies.   I stamped and colored the pretty bouquet with Copic markers and used the coordinating die to cut it out.   I cut off the ribbon edge and instead wrapped the bouquet with twine.   Check out that cute teeny tiny tag!!   I love that you can add different names to it - here I chose Mom.

I added the bouquet to a Fringed Scallop tag with foam adhesive and stamped the sentiment, also from Bouquet of Roses, directly on the woodgrain patterned paper.  This card would be perfect for a birthday, Mother's Day, or just because!

That's all I've got for you - I hope you've fallen in love with lots of the wonderful products showcased this week.   They are all available now at the Lil' Inker Designs store!

CAS-ual Fridays March Release - Cowbell!

**This is my second post of the day.  For my Lil' Inker Designs blog post, please scroll down**

Hello there!   It's day two of CAS-ual Fridays' March release, and today we have the hilarious stamp & die set, Cowbell, to share with you!

I confess - I didn't know what the expression meant, even though I'd heard people use it.   A quick search of YouTube revealed the hilarious Saturday Night Live sketch with Christopher Walken - and I must have watched it three times in a row, laughing each time!!
I created a shaped easel card using the large cowbell die.   To make it, I folded & creased a card base as usual, and then ran it through my die cutting machine with the top of the die NOT covered by the cutting plate.   This results in a shaped card that stays together since the top isn't die cut.  The next step is to crease the front of the shaped card about halfway down.  I die cut another cowbell, this one from a bronze metallic paper I found in my stash.   I adhered that to just the bottom portion of the creased card base, then stamped and heat embossed the sentiment in a bright aqua embossing powder from Zing.

I finished the inside by stamping and heat embossing 'More' with red embossing powder, and adding the 'Cowbell' word die cut from aqua cardstock.  To make the card stay propped up when the recipient opens it, I added a heart die cut (from the Heart Board Fri-Die set), adhered with a piece of foam adhesive.

Hope you've enjoyed my card today!    There's more inspiration coming your way tomorrow, so be sure to stop back!

The special coupon code KIMBERLYSENTME is good on any purchase (even new release items!) from the CAS-ual Fridays store.   Feel free to use it at any time!

Lil' Inker Designs March Release - Day 2

Hi there!   Today I've got a few more Easter/Spring projects to share with you using the fabulous new March release from Lil' Inker Designs.   You'll find a clickable links for all of the LID products I've used at the bottom of this post!

First up a card using the clever Easter Egg Pop Up die!  This is such a unique die, in that it cuts the eggs while leaving a small portion at the top and bottom attached.   You can then curl the edges up for dimension!   (A little trick here is to place something round, like a pencil, in the center of the egg before folding.   This will ensure that you don't get a hard crease when lifting the edges!)

This is such a cool die, and I wanted to do something really colorful with it rather than just die cut it from a solid - so I decided to add watercolor patterned paper strips to a piece of white cardstock with removable adhesive before running it through my die cutting machine.  Once die cut, I removed the paper from the negative space, leaving the paper only on the eggs.   I did have to snip some of them with my scissors to cleanly remove all of the excess paper.

I didn't want to cover up too much of the cool background, so I added some more strips of watercolor paper and added a sentiment from the Brush Script Spring dies to finish the card.

My next card uses the super sweet Easter Parade stamps and dies.   I am a sucker for an adorable critter stamp set, and these springtime cuties totally make me smile!

I had the perfect strip of patterned paper from Echo Park in my stash, so I used it as a place to ground my Copic colored bunny & chick.   I used the Quilted Stitched Pattern die for the background.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!    We have one more day of inspiration left, so be sure to stop back tomorrow.   And remember, you have a chance to win the ENTIRE March release - just leave a comment on each stop of the blog hop and you'll be entered to win!   Now head on over to Lisa's blog to see what she has in store for you!

CAS-ual Fridays March Release - Somebunny

**This is my second post of the day.  For my Lil' Inker Designs blog post, please scroll down**

Hello & happy Monday!   I hope your day is off to a good start!   This is my second post of the day - I've been super busy creating lots of cards using the adorable new releases from my design teams.   CAS-ual Fridays' March release starts today with one of the most adorable stamp sets (with matching dies)! Introducing Somebunny!

I was inspired to do some no-line coloring for this one, so I stamped the bunny with a light grey ink and colored him in with Copic markers.   The background was a little to plain for me, so I used some masking fluid to cover up the colored bunny and added some color to the background by blending several blue shades of Distress Oxide inks, leaving some white space to serve as clouds.

There are some fantastic sentiments in this stamp set as well - I love this particular one for a belated birthday card - because even as a cardmaker, I still seem to miss a lot of birthdays - haha!

Stay tuned all week, as the CFS design team will be sharing inspiration using all five new stamp/die sets!   If you want to do some shopping, you can check out all of the new stamp sets in the CAS-ual Fridays store - be sure to use the code KIMBERLYSENTME to save 15% on your purchase (including new items!!!)

Lil' Inker Designs March Release - Day 1

Hello my friends!    I'm super excited to start sharing projects for the March Lil' Inker Designs release.   There are lots of awesome Easter products in this release, as well as some other fabulous items.   Be sure to stop by my blog over the next several days for loads of inspiration!  First up is a card using the adorable Peek-a-Boo Bunny Die and Happy Bunny stamp set!

This is such a simple card - one that would be a cinch to make multiples of!  I die cut the bunny and adhered him to a piece of gingham patterned paper.   I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment from Happy Bunny on another strip of patterned paper and adhered it with foam tape to complete the card!

Next up is a card using a really clever new die called the Happy Bunny Border Die Set!  I used one of the included dies to cut the bunnies from white cardstock, and the other included die to cut bunnies from grey cardstock.   I adhered the bunnies to a piece of pattered paper and added another strip of patterned paper to the bottom.   Then I ran the entire piece through my Gemini die cutter with the LID Dual Stitched Rectangles die.

All that was left was to stamp the adorable faces and the sentiment (both from the Happy Bunny stamp set)!

And finally, I have a project made with the super cute Carrot Treat Holder Die!   Keep in mind that while my project resembles a carrot, you can tailor this to any occasion - the cone shape would be perfect for whatever you choose!

All you need to do to create this treat holder is die cut your choice of paper twice, fold on the creases and secure with a strong adhesive (I used Scor-Tape).   I had the most perfect carrot patterned paper in my stash, so I freehand cut the accent triangles  and adhered those to the treat holder.

The super cute tag was die cut using the new Charm Tags Die Set.   I added the little bunny detail by cutting one of the bunnies from the Happy Bunny Border die set and trimming her to fit.
