Dimensional Accents with CAS-ual Fridays & Nuvo Drops

Hello friends!   Today I'm sharing a fun way to jazz up your background stamps!
I started by stamping the Curtis background from CAS-ual Fridays stamps onto white cardstock.  Next I created my sentiment by die cutting 'Smile' from Smiling Fri-Dies from two colors of cardstock and offsetting them slightly.   I colored both layers with a Spectrum Noir sparkle marker and then coated the entire thing with Glossy Accents.   While that was drying, I stamped and heat embossed the remaining sentiment, from the Shenanigans stamp set, onto a black cardstock strip and notched the ends.

Once I adhered the sentiments, I was able to go in and use my Nuvo drops to add an accent to each area of the Curtis background.   I love how it looks!   Such dimension!

So - there you have it!   Another way to dress up your background stamps....I'm all about changing things up and finding new ways to use my existing supplies!   If you'd like to check out the CAS-ual Fridays products I've used, head on over to the store!   Be sure to use my special coupon code, KIMBERLY17, to save 15% off your order - yay!

January Calling All Sistahs Hop

Hello there!  It's January 17, and that means it is time for a self-breast check!!   Michele, owner of CFS is a breast cancer survivor, all because she found it early by doing a self check.   Every month,  CFS hosts a blog hop as a friendly reminder to do a self check.  We'd absolutely love it if you joined in  our monthly hops - head over to our Facebook group for more information!!

And did you know that 50% of the profits of the Calling All Sistahs products available from CFS go to the NBCF!   There is an awesome new sequin mix created just for CAS-ual Fridays by Pretty Pink Posh added to the shop this month too....so pretty!

For my card, I stamped the flower & leaf images from Mon Ami  with a light shade of Memento ink and then added some shading to them with matching shades of pink Copic markers.   When I was done, I stamped again with Versamark ink and heat embossed them with WOW Glitter Embossing Powder in Mulberry Mist.   This process took some time, but my MISTI made it easy!   I heat embossed the sentiment, from Word Ribbon,  on a strip of vellum and added a few sequins from the new Sistahood Sparkle sequin mix to complete the card!

Be sure to stop by Susan's blog next, and keep hopping and leaving comments along the way for your chance to win one of two gift certificates to the CAS-ual Fridays store!   Here's the full link list in case you get lost!   Happy hopping, everyone!

Go ahead and use my special coupon code to save 15% at the CFS store!   You know you wanna shop! ;)

Sweet Strawberries!

Hello there!   I've been having fun using lots of new stamping goodies I received around/for Christmas.   Yesterday I spent some time playing with the Strawberry Layers stamp set from Strawberry Jude.    There are a ton of layers to create these awesome strawberries, and the results are so impressive!   They look good enough to eat!   Several of my "color experiments" were good enough that I decided to put them to use on some cards!

First up is my favorite - this one uses a die cut sentiment from Li'l Inker, the stamped sentiment from Sunny Studio, a die from MFT and paper from Gina K.    Lots of my favorites here!

The next card uses a sentiment from MFT, scallop border die from Simon Says Stamp and paper from Lawn Fawn.

Have a fantastic weekend!   See you next week! :)

A Blog Named Hero Challenge - January

Hello, and happy 2017!   Can you believe it?  The holidays are over and it's time to jump back into my favorite hobby - and I couldn't be happier!

Today over at A Blog Named Hero we are sharing our January challenge.   This month, we are collaborating with the fabulous Right At Home and our theme is "New To Me".
I was so happy to receive these awesome brand new coffee-themed stamps in the mail  (they will be released on January 5, available in the Right At Home shop!!- thank you Nicole!) - I knew that they would coordinate perfectly with some of my Hero Arts goodies!   Since Right at Home is a new-to-me company, I was all set to begin my challenge card!

The background was stenciled with Distress Inks, and I did some paper piecing for the fun coffee mug.   I split the Right At Home sentiment (by masking a portion with washi tape, inking, and removing the washi before stamping) and added the large ampersand from the Hero Arts You & Me stamp set - I love the visual impact of the sentiment done this way!

Want to play along with the challenge?   You have until January 25th to link up your card over at A Blog Named Hero!  I can't wait to see what you create!!
