Never Give Up Hope!

Hello again!   Thanks for stopping by!  Today I have a card to share using items from the Calling All Sistahs collection by CAS-ual Fridays.    Since October is breast cancer awareness month, if you purchase any items from this fabulous collection this month, 75% (rather the usual 50%) will be donated to nationalbreastcancer.org.   Pretty awesome, I'd say!
I created my card by stamping the back side of the Hope Ribbon with Versamark and heat embossing it in white.   After it cooled a minute, I stamped the front side of the stamp  with Versamark, and heat embossed with several shades of pink glitter embossing powder from WOW.   I added the sentiment on a cardstock strip and stacked several of the Hope Fri-Die for dimension.

Hope you've enjoyed my card today!   Head over to CFS to check out all of the awesome things going on this month - it's our 5th birthday and there is an awesome sale going on! You can stack the awesome deals by using my coupon code, KIMBERLY2017, to save an additional 15% on everything in the store!   Woo-hoo!!

For my card today, I stamped the flowers from Loving Thoughts  with Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Ink and then heat embossed with iridescent embossing powder.    They sparkle and shine so much in real life - I tried my best to capture it for you in the photo ;)   I stamped the sentiment (from Calling All Sistahs ) and the butterfly (from Be) with Versafine Onyx Black and then heat embossed with clear powder.   I cut the sentiment strip, cutting around the top part of the butterfly, and adhered it to the card with foam tape.     I wanted to let the background shine, so to tie the sentiment strip in with the rest of the card, I heat embossed a single butterfly (also from Be) directly on the card base.

Be sure to hop along for the chance to win a prize from CAS-ual Fridays!   Comments must be made by 12 a.m. EST on March 19.   Now head over to Penny's blog to see what she's created!!

I heat embossed the Full On Floral background stamp onto a piece of white cardstock and added color with Catherine Pooler's new inks - they blended fabulously!   I  used the Ruffled Ribbon Fri-Die to cut the ribbon from the inked background.   I added some sparkle with a Spectrum Noir clear overlay marker.

I stamped the Full On Floral background again, and adhered the ribbon on foam adhesive right on top.   The sentiment was created using the Hope Fri-Die and Calling All Sistahs stamp set.   That fun sparkle on the sides is glitter washi tape!

Calling All Sistahs August Hop!

Hi there friends!!    It's the 17th of the month and you know what that means, right?   Time for a self-breast check!    The theme of our CAS-ual Fridays Calling All Sistahs hop this month is "Remind a Sistah", so I thought a nice (and pretty!) reminder would be a bookmark!

handmade bookmark | bookmark | check yourself | breast cancer | Jillibean soup | CAS-ual Fridays Stamps | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com

I used some pretty paper from Jillibean Soup  and cut it down to make a bookmark.   The edges were distressed with a sanding block,  and I added some Antique Linen Distress Ink to the edges.   I stamped the sentiment, from Calling All Sistahs, with Versamark ink onto a strip of vellum cardstock and heat embossed it with rose gold embossing powder.   I stitched the edges with a zig zag stitch for some interest, and then adhered it to my patterned paper by wrapping it around the edges and adhering to the back side.    I adhered this piece to a sturdy piece of cardboard so it can take some abuse, lol!

I wanted the message to be visible as needed (i.e., that time of the month!), so I created a band to go around the sentiment using another pretty piece of patterned paper from Jillibean Soup.   I adhered the strip to itself loosely enough so that it can be slid on and off, and then tied a pretty twine ribbon around it as well.

July Calling All Sistah's Blog Hop!

It's that time, ladies!   Time to check yourself!   I'm here (along with a bunch of talented ladies joining us for the hop) to share some inspiration and provide that important monthly reminder, brought to you by CAS-ual Fridays!
paper crafts | cardmaking | support | cancer | embossing paste | glitter | friend | clear stamps | cas-ual fridays stamps | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com | handmade card

I used a stencil along with Distress Ink and Bo-Bunny Glitter embossing paste to create the background for my heart.   I die cut the heart with the Heart Board Fri-Die from the center of my panel and then stamped the sentiment from Hope Ribbon directly below it.   I also added a strip from the background I created along the bottom edge.   I mounted the background piece to my cradles and then I used foam tape to add the die cut piece, giving it some fun depth.

paper crafts | cardmaking | support | cancer | embossing paste | glitter | friend | clear stamps | cas-ual fridays stamps | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com | handmade card

I die cut the friend twice, once from black cardstock and once from white using  the Friend Fri-Die and adhered them to one another, offset just a bit.   I the word added across the heart (using foam tape for the middle section).

That completes my card!   I hope you've enjoyed....your next stop is the fabulous Lisa Lahiff's blog!  Be sure to leave some love as you go, as CAS-ual Fridays will be giving away prizes to several lucky commenters! (If you've lost your way, head over to the CAS-ual Fridays blog for the complete hop list!)

June Calling All Sistahs Blog Hop!

It's that time of the month, ladies!    I'm here with a reminder to check yourself....it could just save your life!   I'm sharing an encouraging card - perfect for a friend or loved one who has been dealt a tough hand.  I love this sentiment!!

cancer awareness | encouraging card | encouragement | handmade card | cardmaking | papercraft | calling all sistahs | cas-ual fridays stamps | clear stamps | awareness ribbon | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com

To create my card, I used the Ruffled Ribbon Fri-die to do some  partial die cutting.   I cut just the top portion of the ribbon and then scored my piece of cardstock and folded so that the ribbon stands straight up and is part of my card base (the card is still 4.25 x 5.5" from the top of the ribbon to the bottom of the card).   Here's a side view picture to show you what I mean!
cancer awareness | encouraging card | encouragement | handmade card | cardmaking | papercraft | calling all sistahs | cas-ual fridays stamps | clear stamps | awareness ribbon | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com
I  used some pale shades of Copic markers to color a diagonal rainbow on some cardstock and then stamped and heat embossed the ribbon from the Hope Ribbon die over the top with white EP.    I die cut the ribbon, again with the Ruffled Ribbon Fri-die and adhered it to the card just at the top, leaving the ribbon ends free of adhesive for some cool dimension.

The sentiment, from Calling All Sistahs, was heat embossed with silver embossing powder, and a few sequins from Pretty Pink Posh finished off the card.

Hope you've enjoyed my card today, and that the monthly hop has served to remind you to take a few minutes and do a self-breast exam!   Be sure to hop along and leave comments - I hear there will be prizes to be won!  :)

And if you'd like to do some shopping, please feel free to use my coupon code, KIMBERLY16, over at the CAS-ual Fridays store - you'll save yourself 15%....woo-hoo!!!     Be sure to head over to Susan's blog next to see what she's created!!

May Calling All Sistahs Blog Hop!

Hi there!!   Thanks for joining us for the May Calling All Sistahs Blog Hop!  It's such an awesome reminder for you to CHECK YOURSELF each and every month!!  Kudos to Michele & Heather for everything they've done to organize this hop!!  I personally had to have breast surgery in April 2014.   I can't tell you how very relieved I was to hear the doctor say "no cancerous cells were found".   I'll never forget it!

breast cancer | handmade card | support | calling all sistahs | CAS-ual Fridays | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com

My card uses one of the Scallop Tag Fri-Dies as the focal point.  I covered a piece of cardstock with strips of pink and silvery grey washi tape, then die cut the tag.   I also die cut the Hope Fri-Die from the tag so that I could use the die cut inlay technique.   I replaced the word with a cut from pink cardstock.  I stenciled the background with grey ink and added the supportive sentiment from the Calling All Sistahs stamp set, heat embossed with grey.  I finished the card with a bit of grey baker's twine and silver sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.  Did you know that  CFS  donates 50% of the profits from items in the Calling All Sistahs collection to breast cancer research and awareness programs?   That's so awesome right?!?! Woo-hoo!
