CAS Rainbow Butterflies

Hello, crafty friends!   Can you believe we are nearing the end of August?   Time is flying so fast - my kids will soon be back in school - it's hard to believe!  In the meantime, I've been able to get in some crafting time while the kids are at sports practice.   I had this beautiful stamp set from Flora & Fauna sitting on my desk and couldn't wait to ink it up!
I inked the back side of the butterfly stamp and stamped a row of colorful butterfly shapes along the side of my card.   I went back and added the actual butterfly stamp with the details using Versafine Black Onyx.   I wanted to keep the whole card pretty CAS, so I heat embossed the sentiment and cut the strip on a diagonal.    Easy peasy!

Hope you are all enjoying the last days of summer!   Stay tuned later in the week for something fun....

This card is for the following challenge:

Oh, Be Still My Heart!

Hi crafty friends!   Another Monday....ugh!   Maybe my brightly colored card (and a cup of coffee) will make you smile, lol!
I partially stamped the sentiment, from CAS-ual Fridays Puffy Heart Love in the center of my focal panel.   I stamped the border from Holly Jolly Christmas (gotta love the versatility of that set!!) with Versamark and heat embossed with glitter embossing powder.   The multi-colored hearts were die cut using the Heart Board Fri-Die adhered in place of the stamped heart image.
Here's a better picture of that glittery embossing!   It's so sparkly!  Remember, the entire CAS-ual Fridays shop is 15% off when you use coupon code KIMBERLY2017 - and there are still some sale items as well - head over to check it out!

CAS-ual Fridays & CardMaker Blog Hop!

Hello there!   Today the CAS-ual Fridays DT and the CardMaker DT are joining forces for a fun and flowery blog hop!    You should've arrived here from Savannah's blog.

I've used a bunch of CAS-ual Fridays stamp sets for my card - Casual Comfort (leaves), Pretty Posies (flowers), Be (butterfly), & Loving Thoughts (sentiment).  All of these stamps  - and the entire store, are 15% off when you use the coupon code KIMBERLY2017 at checkout!!

I started by masking the bottom of my card base and stamping the leaves in a variety of green inks, sometimes stamping without reinking.   To add the illusion of blue sky, I used a foam blending pad and added a light touch of Broken China Distress Oxide ink.  I stamped and colored the flowers with Copics and then die cut them with the coordinating Posies dies.  I adhered them to the card base, adding foam adhesive to one for dimension.

I stamped the sentiment below a strip of thin gold washi tape, and die cut the Friend die and adhered that as well.    A little touch of gold Stickles and the card was complete!

Your next stop on the hop is Teresa's  blog.  I'm sure she's got something gorgeous to share with you!   Remember to leave comments along the hop for your chance to win some fabulous prizes!    If you've gotten lost along the way, the complete hop list can be found at either the CAS-ual Fridays blog or the CardMaker blog.

Remember, if you want to shop over at CAS-ual Fridays, you can use my special code, KIMBERLY2017, at any time - it's good on everything, including sale items!!  Happy hopping & shopping!

A Blog Named Hero August Challenge - Embossing!

Hello!   Are you ready for another challenge from A Blog Named Hero?!    This month, the focus is on embossing, and our fabulous collaboration partner is none other than WOW!    They make some of the most deliciously glittery embossing powders, and for today's card, I used one called Cloud 9 to create my sparkly feather background.
I stamped the gorgeous Hero Arts Layered Peacock twice - the peacock body and legs on my card base and the tail on a separate piece of cardstock.   The sentiment is from the Hero Arts Layered Flamingo stamp set.

To create the background, I stamped the feather from the Layered Peacock stamp set all over a piece of navy cardstock with Versamark ink.   I then used the Cloud 9 embossing powder and heat set - it's soooo sparky and gorgeous in real life.   It's hard to capture just how awesome it looks in a photograph!   I die cut a square from the center of the embossed panel and adhered it to my cardstock so that it framed the peacock.

I fussy cut the peacock tail from the separate piece of cardstock and adhered it with foam adhesive so that it flows onto the embossed frame.

I hope you'll join us this month and enter your project using embossing!   Head over to A Blog Named Hero to link up!  You have until the end of the month to get your entries in.   I can't wait to see what you create!!

CAS-ual Fridays Release Day, Plus Sale!!

Woo-hoo!   It's Friday AND it's release day at CAS-ual Fridays!  There are four brand new stamp sets available in the shop today - have you been checking out release week over on the CFS blog?   Today's set is called Puffy Heart Love, and it has some AMAZING scripty sentiments included.  I wanted to showcase that awesome bold sentiment, so I decided glitter was just the thing!!
I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and added sticky embossing powder.   Once heated, I added a rainbow of Martha Stewart glitter colors.   Such a pretty effect!

I kept the background simple, and stamped the Curtis background in grey ink.   I offset the sentiment panel just a tad to keep things interesting!

I hope you've been inspired this week - I know the rest of my talented teammates have struck it out of the park this release!

All of the new stamps are now in the CFS store, so head over there if you've got some shopping to do!!   Remember to use the code KIMBERLY2017 at checkout - you'll save 15% on absolutely everything (yes, new items and even items in the sale category!).  Have a fabulous weekend!

CAS-ual Fridays New Release - Day 3

Hello!   If you stopped by my blog or the CAS-ual Fridays blog yesterday, you saw a very cool new set called Tutu which features silhouetted ballerinas - they're adorable!   If you liked that stamp set, I'm going to bet you'll love this one as well!   Introducing Mermaids!!
I stamped my mermaid with several shades of Catherine Pooler Designs inks, using the rock & roll technique.   I decided she needed a rock to sit on, so I freehand drew one and colored it with Copic markers.

I had the perfect papers from Doodlebug in my stash, so I created my scene by layering several patterned papers and tucking my fussy cut images behind a layer of "sand".

To complete the card, I added the "Shellebrate" sentiment.  I love the sentiments in this stamp set!   The little bubbles are just TOO cute!

Alright, that's it for me today....just one more day and one more stamp set to reveal - be sure to stop by again tomorrow!

If you're interested in some of the new sets (or older ones, sale sets, etc.), be sure to use the coupon code KIMBERLY2017 when you shop!   It's good site-wide!!

CAS-ual Fridays New Release - Day 2

Welcome back for day number two of CAS-ual Friday's August release!   I think a lot of you with little girls are going to just ADORE today's stamp set called Tutu - isn't it sweet?

I created a watercolor background for my ballerina using Catherine Pooler Designs ink pads - they blend beautifully with water!   Once the background piece was dry, I stamped the ballerina and the sentiment with VersaFine Black Onyx ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  I cut the piece out with a stitched rectangle die and also added some scalloped edges, inking once again with the CP ink to get a perfect match.   I adhered the scallop pieces to the watercolor cardstock, then adhered the entire piece with foam tape onto a piece of black gingham patterned paper.

For a sparkly finishing touch, I added a few floral gems to the beautiful ballerina's topknot!

Hope you've enjoyed my card today!  We have TWO more stamp sets to share with you before everything hits the CAS-ual Fridays shop on Thursday - and remember when you do your shopping, use my code, KIMBERLY2017, and you'll save 15%!!    Yay!  See you again tomorrow, crafty friends!

CAS-ual Fridays New Release Week - Day 1

Hello there, friends!    CAS-ual Fridays has a brand new release happening later this week, and today is day one of the sneak peeks!   Today we are introducing the stamp set, Flower-case.  Michele has given us a whole floral alphabet, how cool is that?!  I combined Flower-case and a few existing stamp sets to customize a card for a friend going through a hard time....
This is a (nearly) one layer card, so it's perfect for mailing!  I began by lining up my letters (so easy!) and stamping with Versafine Black Onyx, then heat embossing with clear embossing powder.   I stamped the letters again onto some Post-It paper and cut them out to create masks.  The masks were adhered over the embossed letters, and then  I stamped the paint swoosh from Breathe over top of the letters using Catherine Pooler Designs inks in a rainbow of colors.

I carefully removed the masks and voila!   I heat embossed a supporting sentiment from Calm & Loving to finish off the card.

Be sure to stop back tomorrow to see the next big reveal!    See you soon!
