CAS-ual Fridays New Release - Day 2!

Hello, hello!   I'm bringing a little more Christmas to your July today with two more brand-y new stamp sets from CAS-ual Fridays!!   These are super fun - and they can also be used year round!  Without further ado - I bring you Christmas Sparkle and Tag Ornament Fri-Dies!

For my first card I used just the Christmas Sparkle stamp set.   Those fun rings could be stamped in any color your heart desires, and some of the sentiments can be used all year round - so this one is practically essential to have in your stash, lol!!

I stamped several of the circles, overlapping a bit in Versamark ink and heat embossed them using colorful embossing powder by WOW!  The bright colors pop so much on the black cardstock!  The 'Believe' sentiment was also heat embossed on black cardstock, cut out and stacked for some dimension.   I adhered it in the lower corner of the embossed piece, then rounded the right side corners of the black piece for some interest.

I stamped and heat embossed the starbursts, also from Christmas Sparkle, with clear embossing powder onto a red cardstock strip.   I adhered that to my card base and added the black piece to the center of my card.   I rounded the right side corners of the card and that finished this one off!

My next card uses both the Christmas Sparkle stamp set and the Tag Ornament Fri-Dies.   I cut the ornament out by nesting the large and small circles as I die cut them - resulting in a circular frame.   I colored my frame red with a Copic marker and then added sequins around the edge.   I lightly blended some Peacock Feathers Distress Ink onto the smaller circle and then stamped the 'Merry Christmas' sentiment from Christmas Sparkle in the center.   I die cut the ornament topper and hook from some shiny silver paper I found in my stash - perfection!  I let the hook dangle loosely for a realistic look.

CAS-ual Fridays New Release - It's Christmas in July!

It's time for Christmas in July, folks!    The CAS-ual Fridays Ink Squad will be bringing you some mega inspiration this week using the huge new Christmas/Holiday themed release!

My first card uses a sentiment from Snowy Sayings and one of the large snowflakes from Bring on the Snowflakes.  These sets were part of Catherine Pooler's Stamp of Approval box last year, but they are available right now for you at the CAS-ual Fridays store!   Yep, no need to wait till the release week stamps are in the store on Friday - these babies are there right NOW!!

I love both of these new sets!   Snowflakes can be used for the entire winter season, and living in NY, I can practically use them until May, lol (much to my hubby's dismay!)!   I started by stamping and heat embossing the large snowflake onto some red cardstock.   for interest, I decided to fussy cut just around the top and bottom parts of the snowflake and and keep the rest intact to use as a sentiment strip.   I decided on some gold and kraft striped paper as my background, and when I laid my snowflake strip across the paper, it reminded me of a holiday gift, so I added another strip to complete the look of a present!

My next card showcases the Funky Flakes dies.

These are SO much fun to layer!  I began by adding some Ken Oliver Stick-It to the back of my glitter paper to make adhering the flakes super easy once I finished die-cutting them.   I cut a variety of flakes from aqua, blue and silver glitter paper and adhered them to my card base.   It's super difficult to see, but before I added the die cut flakes I sponged on some super light ink through a stencil I made with one of the Funky Flakes dies.   It gives a little more texture to the card - unfortunately it's so light it was super hard to photograph!   The sentiment is another gorgeous one from Snowy Sayings, heat embossed with silver embossing powder.

So that's it for today - but there is so much more to see all week!   Be sure to stop back every day this week  & leave comments for a chance to win a gift code to the CAS-ual Fridays shop!  If you'd like to do some shopping, you can use the code KIMBERLY16 anytime to save some moolah....and that's always a good thing, right?!?     See you tomorrow, crafty friends!

Party Time & Winner!

Hi there!   I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend!  I'm stopping by today with a card using supplies from Newton's Nook Designs!

I used the Garden Window die to cut a rectangle from my confetti patterned paper.   I created a shaker card filled with confetti simply by adding vellum to the back side of my panel and adding a double layer of foam tape.   I then just piled some confetti in the center of my card base and adhered the panel over top.

I stamped and colored in Newton, from Newton's Christmas Cuddles, and then die cut him out with the coordinating dies.  This is a great set to have on hand since it can be used for a variety of occasions other than the holidays!  I adhered him at the corner of my frame and then adhered a variety of sentiment strips cut from patterned paper to complete my card!

Hope you've enjoyed my card today!   Next week is release week at NND, and wait till you see the HUGE release we've got coming your way!   It's a goodie....be sure to stop back and check it out - the fun starts on Monday!

Before I go, I want to announce the winner of the Tim Horton's gift card from my Coffee Lover's Blog Hop post - KIM HEGGINS, Congratulations! Send me an email at kimpletekreativity@gmail.com with your mailing address so I can get your prize to you!

Being Happy Rules!

Hello, hello!   I know it's Monday, so we all need something to make us smile, right?!   Well, I aim to please!    Rainbow smiles for you this Monday morning!
handmade card | rainbow | rainbow hearts | hearts | smiles | papercraft | cardmaking | clear stamps | CAS-ual Fridays Stamps | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com | be happy

I created my background by stamping the Smile sentiment from Sassy Smiles in a rainbow of Lawn Fawn ink colors.   I used the same inks direct to paper and die cut five hearts using the Heart Board Fri-Die.   I built the heart up by using layers of foam adhesive between the colors.   I stamped the Being Happy Rules sentiment (I just love that sentiment, don't you?!?!) from Calm & Loving on black and heat embossed with white.   I cut apart the sentiment and added them to the heart!

CAS-ual Fridays/Imagine Crafts Blog Hop!

Hi friends!!   Today the Girl Fridays from CAS-ual Fridays Stamps are teaming up with Imagine Crafts and their designers to bring you a super fun collab blog hop!   I was excited to have the chance to work with some awesome products from Imagine Crafts - wait till you see what I've created!

I opted to try a new-to-me product from Imagine Crafts called Vertigo - these are really awesome sheets of a plastic-like material that reflects and refracts light.   You can die cut them, ink them (use pigment ink or Staz-On), stamp on them.....lots of possibilities!    I used the Rattlesnake Vertigo 6x6 sheets and die cut a tag using the CFS Tag Buddies dies.   I inked the back side of the tag with Memento Luxe inks in Dandelion and Lilac Posies ink, overlapping to create a third, orange color.   It looks so awesome in real life!    The picture can't quite capture how amazing it looks when you tilt it back and forth!   I die cut another tag from white cardstock to use as a backer because I didn't want my striped background to show through.

cas-ual fridays stamps | imagine crafts | vertigo sheets | flower | mon ami | prismacolor pencils | heat embossing | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com

Once I had the tag finished up, I set to work on the rest of the card.   I used the lotus flower image from the CFS set, Mon Ami, and heat embossed it on black cardstock, colored it in with colored pencils and then die cut it with the matching Mon Ami Fleur Fri-Die.   I used some Nuvo Drops for a bit of dimension!   I stamped the sentiment, also from Mon Ami,  and heat embossed it in white.   I trimmed the sentiment strip, added some stitched lines with a white gel pen and notched the ends.  I added the sentiment strip and some ribbon to the tag and adhered it to the striped panel.   I adhered the flower to the corner of the tag with some foam adhesive - and that finished off my card!

I hope you're having a fantastic time hopping along with us.   Be sure to comment at all the stops on the hop for your chance to win one of two great prizes from CAS-ual Fridays and Imagine Crafts!   Your next stop on the hop is Mark Melnick's blog!!

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop & Giveaway!

Hi there!    I'm super excited to share my card for the Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop, partially because I actually have it done BEFORE the start of the hop and partially because these cute images from Lil' Inker Designs make me so HAPPY!!!!

coffee lovers bloghop | lil inker designs | coffee | donut | handmade card | cardmaking | papercraft | kimpletekreativity.blogspot.com

I stamped the images on the bottom of the chevron paper (also from Lil' Inker) and then stamped again, colored and fussy cut the images and layered them over the images on the chevron paper.   That way I didn't have to worry about cutting their teeny tiny, adorable little legs and arms off, lol!!   I gave the donut a coating of Wink of Stella glitter pen and Glossy Accents for shimmer and shine.

I thought it was only appropriate to do a little giveaway of a Tim Horton's gift card since this IS the Coffee Lovers Bloghop, after all!   It's just a $5 gift card, but I hope the winner enjoys a delicious coffee on me! :)   To enter, just leave a comment and if you'd subscribe to my blog and/or Instagram, I'd appreciate it (buttons are on the sidebar)!   Good luck, and happy hopping, friends!!
