MIM, Round 2!

Played with more glitter today, lol!  To play along with PTI's Make it Monday yourself, check out Nichole's blog post here!

This hopefully counts as a glittered embellishment.....it's just that the embellishment is the entire cardfront....tee hee!   I went for an ombre look on this one.   I used some Martha Stewart glitters in pink and irridescent shades.   The sentiment is in Raspberry Fizz and overstamped with Versamark then embossed with sparkle embossing powder.   And the color more closely matches the hearts.   I had a hard time getting a picture that showed the true colors!

Hope everyone is having a great week!   We had a two hour delay for the kids here in NY.   The windchill was -27 this morning!   Ugh!    Hoping for warmer weather soon.....it's sad when 30 degrees will make me happy!!!

Another Make it Monday

Hi all!   So, I am such a bad blogger that I didn't realize until today that my cute template was MIA.   Turns out, it's been gone since November!   So I just did a quick fix and hopefully will get it back to a more attractive state ASAP!!  While I was fiddling around with it, I decided on a name change too!

Anywho, I played along with Papertrey's MIM again this week.   Heather showcased glittered elements.   It was super easy to run the die cut through my Xyron and selectively remove sections with a craft knife to add glitter.   I had a hot glittery mess going on in the craft room, lol!

Here's a close up of the multicolored glitter.   Love it!

Lawnscaping #73

Hi there!  Today I decided to play along with the Lawnscaping Challenge....here's the inspiration picture!

I went pretty literal with the picture....I was drawn to the hanging decorations and the colors.   Here's what I created!

I used the Lawn Fawn sets Sally's ABC's, Sweet Christmas and Here's the Scoop.   The confetti circles are the gingerbread man's buttons from Sweet Christmas and the streamer is from Here's the Scoop!   Hard to see in the photo, but the confetti is blinged out with Stickles.    If you'd like to play along with the Lawnscaping Challenge, hurry up!   Today's the last day to enter....

Hope everyone's having an awesome day!!!

Make It Monday 147

Hi all!   It's been awhile since I've blogged....or created anything fun, for that matter!   After returning from vacation in the beginning of December, I was hit hard with a sinus infection.   And by the time that cleared up we were in the thick of Christmas baking, shopping, wrapping, etc.!   Anyway - I'm back!    My hubby got me a new camera for Christmas, so I've been trying to figure it out, lol!    I certainly have a ways to go, but I think I'll be able to get better pictures soon.   One day at a time, right!?

So for the first thing I created since my (ahem) hiatus, I decided to play along with Papertrey's Make It Monday.   Betsy showcased multi-layer images, and I pulled out Movers & Shakers Sentiments and pieced together the 'Clouds' sentiment.   I stamped 'beyond' with Versafine and layered it, and I inked  'rainbows' with Memento markers and layered that.   They are popped up with dimensional tape, but it's hard to see that in the photo.   Before I added the dimensional layers, I masked the sentiment and used the banner string from Heart-2-Heart #5 as a rainbow - again inked with Memento markers.   For a subtle background I just adhered cloud dies and then matted the focal point with Blueberry Sky paper and called it quits!  I was sorely tempted to add some sequins, but I resisted!  I think simple was the way to go with this one.

Well, off to go clean up my mess....and maybe make something else!   Have a great weekend....

Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge

Woo hoo!   This is the first time I've participated in the SPARKS Challenge.   Go here if you'd like to play along! I thought it'd be pretty cute to add the wine glass to the kitty image!   Two of my favorite things....cats and wine, lol!   I cut the little paws with my X-acto knife so that the wine glass fit right in there....had to finish the wine off with a little Glossy Accents as well!

Be sure to check out Paper Smooches!!

I've also got a card for my daughter's birthday this Sunday.  Love how this one turned out.   The banner is from Tribalation and was just curved on the block.   The balloon is vellum colored with Copics and looks really cool and translucent in real life.

My girlie is having 12 of her nearest and dearest friends over for an ice cream sundae party on Saturday and I have bunches of work to finish, cupcakes to bake and rooms to clean in order to get ready!   Wish me luck!!!

Inky Antics Challenge #4

Hi everyone!   I missed the last Newton's Nook Inky Antics challenge, so I was happy to have a bit of time today to create something for challenge #4!  Go here to play along for yourself!!!

I looked at the sketch and thought I'd use my Cameo to cut a shape to use instead of the circle.   I love the snowflake IRL - I covered it with Shimmer Spray, so it sparkles and shines!   I used Newton's Antics to stamp and fussy cut the cute kitty.   I thought I'd add some tinsel twine for the mischievous little guy to play with....and some google eyes, of course!   I really wanted a more "seasonal" greeting for this card, and since I don't yet have any of the Newton's Nook holiday sets, I handwrote the word winter and selectively inked the rest of the greeting to make it all come together!

Hope everyone is having a great week!   The weekend is almost here....yay!!

Creative Chemistry 102 - Days 3&4

Still having fun in class.  I'm caught up to Day 5.   I'll be trying to finish up later tonight!   Here are the Day 3 tags.   I'm missing one.... Waiting on my Clear Rock Candy Distress glitter to complete it.

And here's Day 4.   I love, love, love the Faded Layers tag (the rays one).   I also really like the ombré one (green shades).   I struggled with what to do with my tinted tinsel, then just glued it down into a heart shape.  Then I filled the insides with glossy accents.   Looks pretty cool IRL!
